Umpires

Do umpires get better with experience?

I was a at a varsity high school game the other day and a young kid, just a freshman, hit the crap out of the ball and it was a line drive to left. The left fielder had no chance because it lined right over his head. The ball bounced and went over the fence for a ground rule double. BUT WAIT!!! The umpires are signaling home run. That couldn't be because I saw the ball clearly bounce over the fence. Granted the fence was white and it was a night game. The only thing the umpires had to do was watch the ball. There was nobody on base so their only worry was to watch the ball.

I tell you this story because I play professional ball and the same thing happened to us about 4 times this year. Someone, either on our team or theirs, would hit a ball into the left center field gap and it would CLEARLY bounce over for a ground rule double, but every time they would signal home run. We always argued the call and got it changed back to a ground rule double. I know that they are on the opposite side of the call, but when a whole team is out on the field arguing that it bounced, don't you think that it might have bounced?

My point is, is that these high school umpires are probably 20-30 years old. The professional umpires are maybe 35-55 years old and they are all making the same mistakes. We even watched last year as the umpires completely destroyed the playoffs. I am completely against putting cameras into baseball, but it seems to me like the umpires just don't care to get any better. Everyone grows and learns with experience, but from my experience I believe that umpires just aren't growing and learning like they should. Let's be honest, have you ever gone through a whole game without seeing a call that you knew was completely wrong?

Life Lock Refund

GET YOUR LIFE LOCK REFUND.

Ever heard of the Federal Trade Commission? AKA The FTC. Well I know that I have and I was doing some research the other day and I found out that a company called Life Lock (sounds safe doesn't it) was forced to pay up $12 million in fines for 'deceptive' ads. This is a real shame considering they are supposed to 'lock up you life' and instead they were actually charged with failing to protect customer's personal information. They are actually giving refunds to customers as far back as 2005. This amazes me because the CEO of the company, Todd Davis, had his Social Security Number pasted all over the place. Pretty much every add they had involved his number, which makes me wonder if his identity was stolen.

The reason I am telling you this is because I am involved with a company called Pre-Paid Legal Services. Inc. I am not even sure if I can put the whole name without clearing it with them first. Not really sure. Anyways we also provide an Identity Theft Shield. We do everything that Life Lock doesn't do. Well now that they are paying $12 million back they are going to start. And the thing that kills me is the price we give it at.

We offer protection against Driver's License theft, Social Security theft, medical information theft, criminal record theft, and financial transaction theft. We all know what Driver's License and Social Security is all about, but what about the other 3. Well people can actually go into a doctor's office under your name and get treatment under your name. With the next one, criminal record theft, people can actually commit a crime in your name and have a warrant out for your arrest. And financial transaction theft is self explanatory. And all these service are being taken care of by the best in the business.

Ever heard of Saddam Hussein? Well he was a very powerful man and the Kuwait government actually paid Kroll, Inc. to go in and find Hussein's hidden assets. Kroll, Inc is pretty much Pre-Paid Legal's partner and they protect people all over the U.S. and Canada. Oh yeah, you ever heard of the Sears Tower. Well it's the tallest building in North America. Well that is one of 10,000 buildings that Kroll has been entrusted to secure ever since 9/11. I could go on and on, but that would be boring.

All this on your side for only $12.95/month.
You know what I may be selling you something, but at least remember i will be saving you money to switch to a better company. Here's the truth:

Lifelock for married couple = $15/month per person. $30/month
PPL ID Shield = $12.95/month for couple. $12.95/month
Here, I'll do the math for you:
Lifelock = $360/year
PPL ID Shield = $155/year

You see the difference? I do, and it helps you save money for a better service. If this interests you then e-mail me at zachpenprase33@gmail.com. And go get your refund from Life Lock.

Airline Industry

"That'll be $25."

These are the words I heard when I pulled up to the American Airlines counter last night before my red eye flight. All I wanted to do is bring my extremely moisturizing hemp lotion from The Body Shop and my awesome hair gel. Yes, I am a straight guy who cares about his products. SO.....Oh and my toothpaste is also something I wanted to bring. I refused to pay the fee.

I figured out why they charge you to check bags. It's not because the gas prices are high, and it's not to cut down on the weight of the airplane. They charge you so they can allow a screaming child to scream uncontrollably, start the video entertainment half-way through the flight, and also pay flight attendants to give attitude every time you want something.

I understand that the screaming child is hard to control, but if there was ever a time that kids should be hit, that was the time. I know that most planes don't have TV's, but this one did! If they got it, then use it and don't wait until half-way through the flight. They must have been trying to save money so they could make the most out the $25 some people paid to check bags. What I don't know is why it's so hard, as a flight attendant, to just be a decent person when someone asks you to do your job.

I have concluded from his trip alone that Southwest is the best in the business. They are so easy to work with, sometimes the flight attendants are comedians, and it is FREE to check 2 bags!!!

Introduction

Hi, and welcome to my blogspot. My name is Zach Penprase, I am 25 years old, and I am going to talk about my life. You may think that's a stupid idea, but it's not. You see, I play professional baseball during the summer and live off my parents for the rest of the year. I recently started a business which requires me to work when I want to work. It's called Pre-Paid Legal and I started it so I can actually begin to take care of myself someday. The reason I tell you this is because this makes my life a little more interesting because it's what I like to call a "job free life."

I know many people that always tell me they wish they had my life. I never argue with them because I do love my life. I have no choice but to travel because that's what baseball requires from me. I can also sleep in when I choose to. Over the next year, and especially during baseball season, I am going to write about my life. Most people wonder what the life of a professional baseball player is all about. Well, keep up with my posts and you will find out.

This "job free life" might make you think twice about your life, but there is one thing I can assure you. You will look at professional athletes differently after following this blog.
